Once a surgeon signs an op note, the case doesn't disappear into a chart. It becomes a searchable record — phases, instruments, anatomy, complications, CVS achievement, all indexed alongside the source video and the signed note.

• Teaching

  Pull every lap chole where Calot dissection took longer than 25 minutes. Or every case a specific resident participated in. Trainees review against a curated archive of what their attending actually did, not a textbook.

• M&M and peer review

  When a complication surfaces, the case is already tagged with timestamps for every phase transition and every clip-applier event. Review committees see the moment, not just the chart entry — without rebuilding context from memory.

• Research and quality

  CVS achievement rate per surgeon, average case time per phase, instrument-use heatmaps, conversion-to-open triggers. The data is structured at draft time, so a quarterly quality report is a query — not a chart-review project.
